Woodland Motel

This motel and their staff go above and beyond to assist not only visitors but the local community. I am the local veteran service officer and recently had a veteran in need of a warm place to sleep, and they did not hesitate to work with me to make that happen. The compassion and consideration of the owners and their team is unmatched. I highly recommend that if you're looking for a place to stay in the area you utilize their motel. No corporate hotel chain can compete with their small town charm and excellent service.

We enjoyed our stay here! The front desk was so incredibly welcoming and accommodating. If you're traveling with dogs, Woodland Motel is the way to go. They go out of their way to make sure your dogs have what they need, including beds and dog dishes. We'll definitely be staying here again

We LOVED this quaint and quiet little motel! For the price and location, you can't beat it. Clean, quiet, hot tub, snack bar, above and beyond customer service. We left an expensive pillow behind and they called us within 20 minutes and offered to ship it to our home. Front desk staff (Alicia) was top notch!

I stayed two nights in a Queen Sleeper room this past weekend and it was perfect. I was there by myself but it felt like a really welcoming and safe environment with families and pets around. Check-in was easy and straightforward, and the room was clean and fully stocked with anything I needed. The motel is in a really great location - I was able to easily walk through a nice neighborhood to get to the conference I came out for at the Steamplant, and going for morning runs was really convenient. I easily accessed the river trail through the baseball fields for a mellow run the first morning, and for my longer run the next day went through the neighborhood/downtown area to quickly get to the Arkansas Hills Trail System. I'm glad I stayed at the Woodland and would recommend it for anyone else visiting Salida!

We have stayed here for at least 20 years. It was always clean, convenient and has larger rooms for family. It has been refreshed in the last few years so it’s nice that everything feels new. Was very clean and the staff is really responsive and friendly.

We enjoyed the extra room in the kitchenette unit. While we only stayed one night, the room is very well equipped with all the accessories (including a full size fridge) you would need to cook and enjoy a longer stay. Very convenient location. We felt welcome and appreciated the personal service. Highly recommend for a comfortable and unique stay in Salida.

It’s our second time staying here and I almost forgot how much I love this spot! Our double queen room is super spacious for my husband, me, and our pup. We use the second bed for laying out extra clothes and ski layers. (We previously stayed in a single queen room and it felt a little cramped, so this upgrade was 100% worth the small investment). The fridge feels way larger than regular hotel mini fridges (we fit in it 3 bottles of wine, two gallons of water, and there are still multiple empty shelves available… Salida punches way above its weight class in dining so it’s nice to have space for leftovers). There’s a little coffee station in the room and electric plugs everywhere. Overall, the rooms are well thought out and very clean. The premises has a bunch of bushes and brush that our dog loves peeing on (lol) and their’s a neighborhood right behind the hotel for dog walking too. There’s good coffee at the reception area. I also love the hot tub! It’s a nice perk after a long day of skiing. The owners and staff are so friendly and happy to suggest things to do in town. :) The location is perfect too, just a short walk downtown.

Nice and very clean. Great location to downtown. I love that they had a wonderful hot tub and a good grill to cook on!
